All is set with Sovereign Bank - we 3 (S, E, L) are now authorized to sign Dad's checks; no new checks need be printed (assuming Dad has a supply - I'll check next time I'm at the apt.); I'll start sending out some bill payments tonight.
Left a message with Michael Spector, the fellow at OC in charge of culinary, to see if they can make any adjustment to the monthly bill. (While I previously thought this was already done, it turns out I had misinterpreted something unrelated on the statement. Generally speaking, they do not appear to have a policy of making adjustments. We'll see where this goes, if anywhere...)
Have left a message with Lisa Harriman - hope to get further clarification of what the next phase of rehab entails, and what to look for in possible sites, besides their location. She called me earlier this morning to tell me that OC currently has no bed available in skilled nursing, but want to come do an assessment in case something frees up next week. She wants us to recommend additional places asap. Couldn't speak any further with her at that time as I was in a meeting.
Have left a message for Shula W. - hoping that she will have some knowledge of the various facilities to consider.
Will also try to speak with our friends the Blausteins tonight, following up on Adi's suggestion that they may have some experience and insights re: facilities. I'll also ask Maayan to follow up with her contact in Boston. You never know where the help will come from.
