Wednesday night, 12/3

Judy called this evening to tell me about their visit to see Dad.  First of all, he has been moved to a different room (I believe she said 236; I'll double-check tomorrow and will update the room and telephone numbers in the November 29 "Key contact information" post).  She thinks it may have been so that he would have a roommate -- the 55 year old stroke victim he now shares a room with is able to get around by wheelchair, and can assist Dad when, for example, he drops something, or wants to call for assistance.  She reports Dad to be in excellent spirits, his sense of humor fully intact, and he apparently demonstrated for them how the therapists have him working on moving his head (I'm pretty sure she said he actually moved it as part of showing them the drill).  They plan to visit him daily, and she told him she was bringing him non-fat frozen yogurt with fudge sauce tomorrow!  She asked the nurse about being able to ask questions about Dad's condition, and when they explained about the list of approved contacts, Dad indicated to the nurse that he would like them added to the list.

Those are the key points I remember.  Bruce or Judy, if there's something important that I missed, feel free to add a "comment" to this post, by clicking on the "x comments" label just below this, to the right.
